(Yicai Global) April 7 — The France E-Commerce Week kicked off yesterday in China to promote economic and cultural relations between the two countries. More than 500 French brands are expected to put over 5,000 products up for sale.
China’s Ministry of Commerce called on Tmall, JD.Com, and other e-commerce sites to set up special sections for French products, such as cosmetics, wines and drinks, foods, maternal and child supplies, clothes, footwear, and bags, and invite French brands to participate in cross-border live streams to introduce their culture and goods to Chinese customers.
The France E-Commerce Week was launched during French President Emmanuel Macron’s three-day state visit to China ending today.
French Ambassador Bertrand Lortholary recorded a special video for the France E-Commerce Week in which he introduced some French products and stressed the relevance and importance of this event in promoting high-quality French items and cooperation between the two countries.
Shanghai also asked supermarket chain Hema Fresh, group-buying platform Pinduoduo, second-hand sneaker trading app Poizon, life service site BL.Com, online grocer Digdong Maicai, and other platforms to sell French cosmetics, wines and drinks, seasonings, bakery items, home furnishing products, ornaments, and ceramics.
Moreover, the eastern Chinese city will host French food-tasting experiences and art exhibitions.
